When shop owners come to us for the first time, this is almost always the first question: 'Do I need a landing page or a full website?' The honest answer is: it depends on what stage your shop is at and what you're trying to achieve right now.
What a landing page is actually for
A landing page is a single page built around one goal: getting the visitor to take one action, usually placing an order or sending a message. It has no navigation menu, no distractions — every element on the page pushes toward that single conversion.
Landing pages work best when:
- You're running paid ads (Facebook, TikTok, Google) for a specific product or promotion
- You sell a single product or a small, focused product line
- You need to launch fast — often in 3-5 days
What a full website is actually for
A full website is a multi-page presence: home, products, about, blog, contact. It's built to be found on Google, to build long-term trust, and to hold a growing catalog of products or services.
A full website makes sense when:
- You want organic traffic from Google over time (SEO)
- You carry multiple product categories or services
- Your brand needs to look established to win bigger customers
Rule of thumb: if you can describe your offer in one sentence and you're already running ads, start with a landing page. If you're building a brand for the next few years, start with a website.
Why not both, eventually?
Most successful shops we work with end up with both: a full website as their home base, plus dedicated landing pages for specific campaigns or seasonal promotions. The website builds long-term equity; the landing pages drive short-term conversion spikes.
The good news: you don't have to decide everything today. Start with whichever matches your most urgent goal, and add the other piece when it becomes the bottleneck.
