Must-Have Features for a Shop Website That Actually Sells

Person shopping online using a laptop

A beautiful homepage means nothing if visitors can't quickly figure out how to buy from you. Here are the features that actually move the needle on orders, in priority order.

1. A visible, always-on contact method

A floating Zalo button or visible hotline number, present on every page, removes the single biggest source of friction: 'how do I actually talk to someone?'

2. Clear product pricing and availability

Hiding prices behind 'contact for price' loses more customers than it protects margins for most shop categories. Show pricing clearly unless there's a strong reason not to (highly custom or B2B pricing).

3. Real product photos, not stock images

Buyers can tell the difference. Real photos of your actual products — even simple ones taken with a phone in good light — build more trust than polished stock photography that doesn't match what arrives.

4. Social proof near the decision point

A review or testimonial placed right next to a product or right before a 'buy' button does more work than a generic testimonials page buried in the navigation.

5. Fast load time on mobile

Every extra second of load time measurably increases the number of visitors who leave before your page even finishes loading. This is covered in depth in our page speed article.

6. A frictionless path to checkout or contact

Whether you take orders through a cart, a form, or Zalo, the path from 'I want this' to 'order placed' should take as few taps as possible. Every extra required field is a chance for a customer to give up.

Every feature on this list is included by default in ShpLinks websites — none of it is an expensive add-on.
